Journal Impact Factor (JIF)

JIF is the yearly mean number of citations of articles published in the last two years in a given journal.

Example: To calculate the IF for year 2021, IF2021 = Citation2021 / Publications2020 + Publications2019

Immediacy Index

Immediacy Index is the average number of times an article is cited in the year it is published.

Cited Half-Life

The Cited Half-Life is the median age of a journal’s articles that were cited in the JCR year. Half of a journal citations were published more recently than the Cited Half-Life.

Prestige Factor

Prestige Factor is a measure of scientific influence of scholarly journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from.

Researcher Metrics

h-index

The h-index is an author-level metric that measures both the productivity and citation impact of the publications. The author should have ‘X’ papers with ‘X’ citations (each) to have an h-index of ‘X’.

i10-index

Number of papers with 10 or more citations for an author. This is used by Google Scholar.
